About Your First Visit |
|
Here is what you need to know about your first visit:
-
Child Assessments
(under the age of 18) - at least one parent/guardian
must attend and stay for the entire visit. For the
first 15-30 minutes, Dr. King will conduct an intake session
to discuss your child's perceived areas of strengths and
weaknesses, and she'll answer any questions about your
child's assessment and what to expect during testing.
The IQ test will be administered to your child following the
intake session (lasts up to two hours), while parent(s) must
wait in the waiting area and complete the necessary
paperwork. For learning disability (LD)
assessments, the IQ test will be administered to your child
following the intake session, and the cognitive/achievement
testing (up to two hours) will be scheduled on a separate
day to prevent test burnout. Note: Dr. King does
not offer child therapy services.
-
Adult Assessments (over the age of 18)
